Physical Therapy

 

PHYSICAL THERAPY IS THE CARE AND SERVICES PROVIDED BY A LICENSED PHYSICAL THERAPIST TO PATIENTS WHO HAVE IMPAIRMENTS, FUNCTIONAL LIMITATIONS, DISABILITIES, OR CHANGES TO PHYSICAL FUNCTION AND HEALTH STATUS RESULTING FROM INJURY, DISEASE OR OTHER CAUSES. PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES INCLUDE THE USE OF VARIOUS MODALITIES SUCH AS HEAT, COLD, ULTRASOUND, ELECTRIC STIMULATION, LIGHT THERAPY, MOBILIZATION AND KINESIOTAPING, TO NAME A FEW. THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE, MASSAGE, RANGE OF MOTION EXERCISES, POSTURE AND GAIT TRAINING AND NEUROMUSCULAR (RE) EDUCATION ARE SOME OF THE TECHNIQUES THAT ARE USED TO ASSIST THE CLIENT TO REDUCE AND/OR ALLEVIATE PAIN, GAIN STRENGTH, MOBILITY AND FUNCTION AFTER ILLNESS OR DISABILITY AND COME BACK TO A STATE OF WELLNESS.
